How do I find a local number to call?
When a show is "on the air" you are able to select the call in button on the show page. By clicking this, your chat screen will change, showing a drop down menu with a list of available numbers in the US. This call in page is also used to cal into user shows from Google Talk.
Can I call into a show without using a phone (ie Google Talk)?
Yes, you may use Google Talk methods on all but the marquee shows. To do so, click on the call in button, and after that follow the directions under the "Call in via Google:" section.
Can I leave a voicemail for a show?
Yes, by calling into any one of shows on NowLive.com. You have the option to go live on the air, or a leave a voicemail for that show.
Am I able to upload files to a show? What kind?
Yes, when you're in a show. Click the post button in the top right corner of the page and you are welcome to upload pictures, video or audio to any show. The accepted file formats for upload on NowLive.com are JPEG, GIF, BMP, MPEG, MOV, MP4, WMV, AVI, MP3. You may also choose to get the embed script of your favorite video site and upload it to a show through here.
How do I send pictures and video into NowLive from my cell phone?
The best way to submit media from your cell phone is to send multimedia messages (MMS) to [show name]@nowlive.com. For example: First take a picture or video with your phone, then send the picture or video into [show name]@nowlive.com (each show has its own address) and almost instantly, you can view it at the site in the NEW PICS AND VIDS section or click on the LIVE tab and see all the most recent reports coming into NowLive. The subject field in the MMS will be the title of the report, and the body text in the MMS will become a text description (or a caption) for the report.
What do I need to use NowLive?
To use our service on a PC, we recommend Internet Explorer or Firefox as a browser, and you need to be up to date with the latest version of Flash available at Adobe.com. To use our service on a Mac, we recommend Firefox as a browser, and you need to be up to date with the latest version of Flash available at Adobe.com. Alternatively on a Mac you are able to use Safari, but in addition to Flash, you will need an audio player, we recommend iTunes.
What kind of connection do I need to use NowLive?
You will need a broadband connection to be able to listen to our broadcasts, view content and chat silmutaneously.
I forgot my password, how do I retrieve it?
Why can't I chat?
Please make sure you are logged in, and on a show page. If you see the words "Error Service Unavailable", you may be signed in to with the same name on 2 different computers. If this is not true, please investigate your security and firewall settings as these may be the hindering your efforts to use NowLive.com properly.
I can’t hear what can I do?
Please make sure that your player is not paused, your speakers are turned on, and your sound is not muted. If you can see that your audio player is playing, and still do not have audio, please close all your browser windows, and then reopen our site.
How do I participate/listen on PC?
For the PC all you will need is an up to date version of flash available at Adobe.com, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. If you prefer not to use our flash audio player, you may click over the link on our player to use Windows Media Player.
How do I participate/listen on Mac?
We recommend using Firefox on Mac. The only utility needed for our site is an up to date version of Flash available at Adobe.com. If you wish to use Safari, you may do this as well, however you will need an up to date version of iTunes on your computer to hear the live stream.
I’m on AOL and I have trouble accessing parts of the site. What can I do?
AOL does not work properly with some websites such as NowLive.com, and disables some of the necessary resources for our site to function properly. Our recommendation is that you use Firefox or Internet Explorer, and you should have no trouble logging in.
My phone is currently blocked?
Your phone is probably not blocked, however if you are blocking caller id notification, your call will not get through calling into NowLive.com. To disable caller id block, please dial *82 before the number in order to call properly.
How do I use Google Talk or Skype?
NowLive does not offer official support for either of these products. There are steps for setting up Google Talk and Gizmo available in our support profile. Any other product support should be found at GizmoProject.com or Google.com.
What is the share button for?
By clicking share(in the show window at the top right) you can post a button anywhere on the net for shows on our network. This button displays when the show you have chosen to share, is on or off the air, and links to the show page of your choice. You are also able to select a direct link to the show page, which you may display in an email. |
